Abstract: The paper explores the impact of US and Israel war against Iran on the Ugandan Economy. The military confrontation between US-Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran started on 28th February 2026. The war received global attention due to the unexpected nature of attacks on both sides. The paper adopted qualitative research approach, (Ravitch and Carl, 2019). The findings show that there was increased volatility in global financial markets, higher energy prices, decline in revenue from tourism and travels, disruption in trade and global supply chains, increase in the cost of insurance, recession risks, high inflation, rising cost for businesses and delay in business decision making. There is also evidence of spill-over of inflation and GDP shocks to other countries during the war. The objective of this short paper is, first to provide realistic assessment of the impact of the coordinated US and Israel war against the Islamic Republic of Iran which started on 28th February 2026 as a result of US and Israel coordinated air strikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure on Uganda’s economy during the on-going war between US and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine effective strategies for cultivating entrepreneurial culture to prepare undergraduates for self-employment in Northern Tanzania. The Study was conducted to answer a research question: What are the effective strategies for cultivating entrepreneurial culture to prepare undergraduates for self-employment? Guided by the Theory of Planned Behavior by Azjen (1991), this study employed a convergent parallel design under a mixed-method research approach. Stratified and simple random sampling techniques under probability sampling were used in selecting 310 undergraduates while purposive and snowball sampling techniques under non-probability sampling were used to select 27 university managers, 6 lecturers and 36 alumni, making a total sample size of 379 respondents. The instrument used in the study was validated by experts, and a pilot test was conducted outside the study area. Data was collected using questionnaire, interview guide, and document analysis guide. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. Ethical considerations were observed in the study. Support mechanisms and practical teaching methods and experiential learning were seen as crucial in preparing undergraduates with skills necessary for self-employment. The study concluded that, there is a need of collaboration between students, parents, learning institutions, and stakeholders to work together towards solving unemployment challenges facing graduates. The study recommended the government, universities, and all education and development stakeholders to provide adequate support to develop entrepreneurial skills for undergraduates.

Abstract: This study examined the role of entrepreneurship in curbing unemployment in rural communities of South Africa. The study employed qualitative methods in data collection as data were collected from eight randomly selected students by using semi-structured interview. The participants were final year students from four faculties in a selected university. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively as per the themes that emerged from research objectives. The study used qualitative methods; the researcher used an interview schedule as a tool. The findings of the study revealed that curriculum of the university, lack of work integrated learning system, shortage of infrastructure, government and university policies, orientation of the students towards entrepreneurship modules among other things that limit the role of entrepreneurship in curbing unemployment in rural communities. It was recommended that entrepreneurship should be introduced as a core module in the curriculum of universities so that it helps in curbing unemployment. Also, partnership between the university and businesses within the community should be encouraged to enhance work integrated learning . Furthermore, policies of the government and university that can enhance entrepreneurship should be made and implemented at institutions of high learning.

Abstract: Youth entrepreneurship is an important aspect of social economic development of any country. When carefully adopted and implemented, it can positively impact on social economic performance of communities. This study therefore investigated youth entrepreneurship as an engine of social economic development in Rubavu District in Rwanda. A sample of 313 respondents participated in the study through questionnaires and interview. Validity was observed and a test–retest reliability was done. Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.67 was obtained implying that all instruments were reliable. Data analysis were done using SPSS. In order to measure youth entrepreneurship, the study used youth livelihood indicators, community standards and improvements, innovations and creative ideas in communities, and availability of goods and services, which local people can purchase from. The study used an ordinal scale (a 5-point scale) to get answers from participants. The findings revealed the enablers of youth entrepreneurship as being: youth policies, education and training, family mentorship, access to startup capital and business mentorship, among others. The study stressed youth willingness to enter into entrepreneurship ventures in Rubavu district but most of them fear to start new businesses stating that it is very expensive. Basing on the conclusion, the study recommended a policy change to stimulate and empower the youth to start small businesses given the enormous benefits to the communities where they live.
