Abstract: This study examined the effect of stakeholder engagement on project success, with a case study of the renovation of Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda. The study objectives were: to examine the influence of project planning on project success; to analyse the effect of project execution mechanisms on project success; and to assess the effect of project decision making on project success. The target population was 150 project participants. The study applied Stakeholder Theory, Agency Theory, and the Resource-Based View (RBV). Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used, employing Pearson correlation and a multiple regression model. Correlations between project planning, project execution mechanisms, and project decision making were 0.925, 0.862, and 0.945, respectively (p < 0.05). Regression analysis revealed that project planning was not statistically significant (p = 0.105), while project execution mechanisms (p = 0.000) and project decision making (p = 0.000) were significant predictors of project success (R² = 0.904). The study concludes that stakeholder engagement significantly influences project success. It is recommended that the Ministry of Infrastructure actively engage citizens through awareness campaigns, training programs, and collaborative initiatives.

Abstract: This study evaluates the impact of feasibility studies on the success of the Busanza Housing Estate slum upgrading project in Rwanda, focusing on economic, social-cultural, and environmental dimensions. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 109 participants, including stakeholders, residents, and officials, via surveys, interviews, and document analysis. Descriptive and inferential methods, such as Z-scores and regression analysis, were used to analyze the data. Results show that economic feasibility significantly contributed to financial sustainability, job creation, and investment (mean = 3.78). Social-cultural feasibility helped reduce inequality and encouraged community involvement, leading to strong local support (mean = 3.80). Environmental feasibility proved vital in addressing climate risks and promoting sustainability (mean = 3.77). Strong correlations were found between all three feasibility dimensions and project success. The study recommends incorporating comprehensive feasibility studies in future slum upgrading initiatives for inclusive, sustainable urban development. These findings offer practical guidance for project management and urban planning in Rwanda and similar contexts.

Abstract: This study examines the effect of project leadership practices on the success of social housing projects supported by the Bank of Kigali in Gasabo District, Rwanda. It focuses on leadership skills and experience, assessing their roles in successful project implementation. A descriptive research design, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative approaches, was employed. Data were collected from 269 respondents involved in the projects, selected using stratified and simple random sampling methods, via structured questionnaires and interviews. Analysis was conducted using SPSS Version 25, with findings presented through descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. Results revealed a strong positive correlation between leadership skills and project success (r = 0.812), while leadership experience showed a stronger correlation (r = 0.845). Regression analysis confirmed that both leadership skills and experience significantly predict project success, with leadership experience having a stronger impact (β = 0.423, p < 0.01) compared to leadership skills (β = 0.312, p < 0.01). The model summary indicated that leadership skills and experience accounted for 73.7% of the variance in project success (Adjusted R² = 0.737). The study recommends enhancing leadership development programs that focus on technical and managerial competencies, as well as offering opportunities for leaders to gain diverse project experience, to improve the outcomes of social housing projects in Gasabo District.

Abstract: This paper investigates the impact of stakeholder communication management on the success of the Sustainable Agriculture Productivity and Market Linkage Project (SAPMP) in Gisagara District, Rwanda. The study employed a descriptive and correlational research design, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. The target population consisted of 8,521 individuals directly involved in the project, including farmers, cooperative stakeholders, agri-business entrepreneurs, project staff, and government officials. A total of 381 respondents were sampled, and 9 key informants were interviewed. A total of 324 questionnaires were returned, and qualitative data was gathered through semi-structured interviews. Inferential analysis was conducted using SPSS software version 21. The findings revealed a strong positive correlation between stakeholder communication management and project success, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of r= 0.744, indicating that effective communication practices are critical to project outcomes. Multiple regression analysis further confirmed that communication management significantly predicts project success, with a standardized beta coefficient of 0.144. The p-value of 0.000 indicates the statistical significance of this relationship. Despite these positive findings, challenges such as inadequate communication channels and delays in information dissemination were identified, which hindered project success. Based on these findings, the study recommends enhancing communication channels, improving the timeliness and accuracy of information delivery, and tailoring communication strategies to meet the specific needs of different stakeholder groups. These measures are expected to strengthen stakeholder engagement and improve the overall success of the SAPMP.

Abstract: This study investigates the impact of resource allocation on the performance of housing construction projects in Rubirizi, Rwanda. Utilizing a descriptive research design, the study examines how effective resource planning, scheduling, tracking, and utilization contribute to project success. The research is grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory and contingency theory, emphasizing the importance of leveraging valuable, rare, and inimitable resources to gain a competitive advantage. The sample comprised 128 respondents from various construction companies and regulatory authorities in Rwanda, selected using purposive sampling. Data was collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression models. The results show that resource planning and management have a significant positive impact on project success, with a high level of agreement among respondents that proper resource allocation contributes to meeting project goals and adhering to budgets. The findings indicate a strong correlation between resource planning and project success (r = 0.668, p < 0.01). It is recommended that construction firms invest in improving resource management practices, strengthen supply chain coordination, and adopt data-driven decision-making tools to enhance project outcomes.
